PORTSMOUTH, Feb. 25. Last Friday three Seamen endeavouring to make their Escape, by swimming over the Dike at Port-Bridge, were seen by the Centinels, who call’d them back; but they not complying, they fired, and shot one through the Belly. The Shot went in at one Side and out at the other; so that the Man seem’d not much hurt. They were all three brought to Town under a strong Guard.
Yesterday 30,000l. was brought in a Landau to the Pay-Office, for Payment of the Shipping.
