At the Newport Sessions on Saturday last, Edith Westwood, alias Sarah Rose, alias Hon. Madeline Harcourt, alias Mrs. Colonel Douglas, alias Rabbitt, which, from what we can learn is her correct name, was charged with obtaining goods of Mr. John Briant, draper, at Ventnor, by false pretences, he not appearing to prosecute, the prisoner was discharged, and thus this professional adventuress is once again turned adrift to prey upon unsuspecting tradesmen.
