SERMONS were preached on Sunday by the Lord Bishop of Toronto in aid of a fund for the embellishment of the ancient churchyard of Farlington. That in the afternoon was in the newly and beautifully-restored parish church of Farlington, the text being Ephesians iii., 15. “Of whom the whole family in the heaven and the earth is named,” upon which an eloquent discourse was delivered. The evening’s sermon was preached in the district church of St. John the Baptist, Purbrook.
We are glad to see that the Government bridge and approaches at Portsbridge, Hilsea, are to be lighted with gas. This is a great and much needed improvement.
