A PRIZE FIGHT was commenced on the Canal at Milton on Tuesday morning between two men named George Baker and Jack Carroll, for £20 a side, but it was stopped by P.C.’s Porter and Ambrose. Nothing daunted, however, the two men proceeded to a small island in Langston harbour, and out of the jurisdiction of our police. Here a severe contest took place between them, and after 48 rounds Carroll was obliged to give in, Baker being comparatively uninjured.
