Extract of a letter from Portsmouth, Feb, 10.
Wednesday night, at half past ten o’clock, a windmill belonging to the estate of the late Sir Tho. Ridge, near half a mile from the Garrison, took fire, for want, we hear, of being properly greased, which was entirely consumed, with all the implements, and two loads and an half of wheat that was going to be ground; the wind at the time blowing a hurricane at S. W. it burnt so rapidly that nothing could be saved.
