SOUTHAMPTON.
MISS RABBITS.—At the Southampton Guildhall, on Friday, before the borough magistrates, Sarah Rabbits, alias Sarah Westwood, alias Madeline Harcourt, was charged with obtaining food and lodgings at Kelway’s Hotel by false pretences. The prisoner has only just been released from gaol, having been imprisoned for a similar offence, and it seems that she at once returned to her old habits. She was taken before the magistrates on Monday, and remanded, she having stated that she had written to Mr. Chitty, of Shaftesbury, to defend her. Mr. Chitty now appeared for her, and said he would undertake to see the prisoner off by train, upon which she was discharged.
