The Barrack Board have given directions for the sale of the materials of the Battle of Minden, public-house, at Hilsea, about sixty other small dwelling-houses, at Portsea, and the wooden sheds on the Redoubt at the Mill-dam; which property has long been untentanted, unprofitable, and permitted to go into decay. It is intended to clear the ground and let it. The possession of this property was thought necessary, by a former Barrack-board, to connect the public line of fortifications in the approach to the Garrison.

Note

There seems to be a general tidy-up of government property happening in 1834. The entry for Monday 25 August, 1834 suggests that clearance was well underway by the time the Barrack Board’s decision was reported here.

Do the minutes of the meetings of the Barrack Board still exist? Is “Principal Officers of his Majesty’s Ordnance” in the item linked above the same organsiation as “Barrack Board” in the second?
