DESERTED from his Majesty’s 30th Regiment of Foot commanded by the Earl of Loudoun, quartered at Hilsea Barracks.

WILLIAM MERROT, of Capt. Rigge’s Company, five Feet six Inches high, aged 25 Years, dark Complexion, dark brown Hair, very much marked with the Small Pox, had on when he went away his Regimental Coat, a striped Vest, and a Pair of Linen Drawers.

THOMAS PORTER, five Feet six Inches and a Half high, aged 18 Years, pale Complexion, black Hair, black Eyes, by Trade a Sword Cutler, born at St. Alban’s in Hertfordshire, served his Apprenticeship, and had on his Regimentals when he went away.

THOMAS LAW, of Capt Dumas’s Company, five Feet ten Inches and a Half high, aged 25 Years, fresh Complexion, light-coloured Hair, grey Eyes, high Cheek-bones, born at Stockport in Cheshire.

MICHAEL GIFFORD, of Lieutenant Colonel Ramsay’s Company, five Feet ten Inches high, aged 20 Years, pale Complexion, light-coloured Hair, grey Eyes, born in the City of Kingsburgh in Germany, had on when he went away his Regimental Coat, Waistcoat and Hat, and Leather Breeches.

COLIN McPHIAL, of Lieutenant Colonel Ramsay’s Company, five Feet seven Inches high, aged 38 years, of a ruddy Complexion, dark brown Hair, and a remarkable red Nose; served last War in Lord Loudoun’s Highland Regiment, and, before he inlisted again, worked some Years in Mount Sorrel in Leicestershire, as a Taylor or Staymaker; had on when he went away his Regimentals and Sword.

JOHN HAGUE, of Capt. Dumas’s Company, five Feet nine Inches and a Half high, aged 18 Years, dark brown Hair, has lately had the Small Pox; has lost the first joint of the second finger of his right Hand, born at or near Havant in Hants, had on when he went away his Regimentals.

WILLIAM WILLOUGHBY, of Lieutenant Colonel Jennings’s Company, five Feet five Inches and a Half high, aged 24 Years, dark Complexion, short and frizzed brown Hair, turns his Toes inward in his Walk, by Trade a Basket-maker, born at Mortlack upon Thames, had on when he went away his Regimental Coat and Waistcoat, and dirty Sheepskin Breeches.

Whoever apprehends and secures either of the above Deserters in any of his Majesty’s Goals[sic] in Great Britain, and gives Notice to the commanding Officer of the said Regiment at Hilsea Barracks, or to John Calcraft, Esq. at his office in Channel Row, Westminster, shal[sic] receive One Guinea for each of them, over and above the Reward given by Act of Parliament for apprehending of Deserters.
